The Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies at the College of Arts, University of Basrah, organized a scientific seminar entitled “Augmented and Virtual Reality Technologies in Education and Training.”
The seminar included three scientific themes addressing the most prominent applications of these modern technologies in educational and knowledge fields.
In the first theme, Lecturer Dr. Batoul Hamid discussed the role of augmented reality technology in school and university education, explaining the impact of these technologies in enhancing interaction between students and academic material, as well as their role in simplifying concepts and presenting content in a clearer and more engaging way.
The second theme was presented by Lecturer Samer Sabah under the title “Challenges and Opportunities of Using Simulation in Education and Learning Environments,” where he reviewed the main obstacles facing the implementation of these technologies, alongside the opportunities that can be utilized to develop the educational process.
Assistant Lecturer Suad Naeem presented the third theme entitled “Employing Augmented Reality in Information Institutions: From Content Management to Creating an Interactive Knowledge Experience,” highlighting the importance of these applications in improving information services and creating more interactive knowledge environments.
The Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Amal Abdulrahman, emphasized in her statement the importance of keeping pace with modern technological developments and enhancing the skills of students and researchers in line with the demands of the digital age.
