


The Department of Arabic Language Holds the First Epic Poetry Festival
Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Arts and the supervision of the Head of the Department of Arabic Language, and in affirmation of Arab identity, revival of authentic Arabic poetry, support for the cause of right, and commemoration of the heroic martyrs, the Department of Arabic Language held its First Epic Poetry Festival in Al-Farahidi Hall on the morning of Wednesday, the thirtieth of this April.
The event was attended by faculty members from the Department of Arabic Language as well as university students.
The ceremony opened with a welcoming speech delivered on behalf of the department by Professor Dr. Angires Tu‘ma, after which the poets stepped forward to recite their works. Participating poets included Kazem Al-Lami, Mohammed Yaseen, Ahmed Ouda, and Muntadhar Al-Jawhari.
The poets praised the great acts of heroism offered by the martyrs, describing them as a guiding light by which the nation finds its way.
At the conclusion of the festival, certificates of participation were presented to the poets.
