The Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies at the College of Arts, University of Basrah, held a scientific panel discussion entitled “Skills of the Public Relations Specialist,” attended by faculty members of the department, as part of its scientific activities aimed at enhancing knowledge and developing professional skills.

The panel discussion addressed several topics related to effective communication skills, institutional image building, and the importance of developing the capabilities of public relations specialists in dealing with the public and managing various communication situations, in ways that contribute to improving institutional performance and strengthening trust between the institution and society.

Assistant Lecturer Istiqlal Nazim delivered the panel discussion lecture, reviewing the key practical skills required of public relations specialists in the modern work environment, while emphasizing the importance of continuous training and keeping up with developments in this vital field.

The session witnessed scientific discussions by the attending faculty members, during which interventions focused on the practical aspects of the lecture and their significance in enhancing professional performance. The Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Amal Abdulrahman, affirmed that this activity comes within the department’s plan to develop academic skills and prepare students for the labor market.
