Iman Tariq Ali Defence Session

On Tuesday 23 / 2 / 2021 at the department of Geography at the College of Arts, the MA thesis titled "Totalitarian Systems Effect on Iraq's Climate for Rainy Season: 2018 – 2019.

Iman Tariq Ali's thesis included four chapters: the first examined the analysis of climate properties during the rainy season ( 2007 – 2008/ 2017 – 2018). The second chapter included Iraq climate dominating atmospheric heights and their relationships with the upper atmospheric levels for the period (Sep. 2018 – May 2019). The third dealt with the troughs dominating Iraq's climate and its relationship with the upper atmospheric phenomena for the period (Sep. 2018 – May 2019). The fourth chapter analyzed the relationship between the pressure systems and the climate properties.

This study aimed at studying the heights, frontal and thermal troughs, air waves, jet streams accompanying them and knowing the number of the days for their remaining over the Iraqi northern region for the two stations of (Kirkuk and Mosul), the middle region (Baghdad, Kut and Rutbah) and the southern one (Basra and Nassiriyyah) with their impact on the climate properties.

This study concluded that the increase in day number of the remaining of the frontal troughs; the middle and the joined led to the increase in rain over Iraq during the rainy season for (2018 – 2019).
