On Sunday 27/6/2021, the College of Arts, the Presidency of Basrah University and the Central Library held a cultural and scientific cooperation agreement with the Imam Al-Abbas Holy Shrine.

The delegation of the the Imam Al-Abbas Holy Shrine gave a lecture on the efforts being made to copy theses and convert them to pdf files on discs.

The meeting was attended by the Dean of the College of Arts, Dr. Majid Abdul-Hameed, the Assistant Dean for Administrative affairs in the College of Administration and Economics, the Director of the University Museum, the Director of Dar al-Kutub Directorate, and the Director of Heritage and Manuscripts Unit at the College of Arts.

After this meeting, the delegation and the participants moved to the Central Library to meet the President of the University, Saad Shahin, who visited the library to listen to the proposals of the Shrine delegation. Then the delegation presented 7000 theses on discs as a gift to the central library. The president of the university also saw the agreement that was presented to him as an official letter entitled to the presidency by the Imam al-Abbas Holy Shrine.

The library also presented a number of discs containing theses as a gift to the Holy Shrine.
