The Crusades: An Orientalist View – Gustave Le Bon as an Example

At the department of philosophy of the College of Arts at the university of Basrah held a seminar on " The Crusades: An Orientalist View – Gustave Le Bon as an Example".

This session, presented by Aqeel Jabbar Jasim,  aimed at shedding light on the French orientalist Gustave Le Bon's view on the Crusades. He was one of the important orientalists who had a role in studying the Arabic Islamic civilization and highlighted the awful crimes of the crusaders. He also compared between the Islamic campaigns and the Crusades via the dealing of the conquerors and the brutality of the crusaders. 

This session also dealt with the view of Gustave Le Bon on the Crusades and he showed the crimes committed by the crusaders and their slaughtering of the innocent in Levan.
