On Sunday morning, 1/11/2020, at the Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems/ College of Arts/ University of Basrah, a PhD dissertation that entitled, The Impact of Climatic Elements on Breeding and Producing Poultry in the Governorates of Babil, Wasit, and Basra, was discussed.
The dissertation, that was submitted by the researcher Suaad Abdullah, consists of five chapters. The first chapter deals with the theoretical framework of the research and the second chapter discusses the impacting climatic elements on breeding and production of poultry in Babil, Wasit, and Basra governorates. As regards the third chapter, the geographical distribution of poultry projects in Babil, Wasit and Basra governorates is examined. While the fourth chapter explains the statistical analysis of some climate elements and their impact on poultry diseases in the governorates (Babil Wasit, Basra). Finally, the fifth chapter shows the obstacles that face the poultry breeding and production sector in the aforementioned governorates.
The dissertation aims at clarifying the impact of climatic elements on poultry breeding and production in Babil, Wasit and Basra governorates, and to know the climatic characteristics that those governorates characterized with. In addition to that, this study shows the impact of the climate elements on the spatial and temporal variation of poultry projects in Babil, Wasit, and Basrah governorates whether at the level of administrative units or the knowledge of diseases that affect poultry.
