A Discussion of the Student Rasha Muslim Yaqoub

 

 

A master’s thesis entitled  "Speech Acts in the Book Improving the Ugly and Brightening the good" by Al-Thaalibi was discussed in the Department of Arabic Language, College of Arts on Wednesday, 7/28/2021.

 The thesis presented by the student Rasha Muslim Yaqoub included three chapters. The first chapter discussed the theory of speech acts between the Arab heritage and Western philosophers. The second chapter included the types of speech acts in the chapter on mentioning the merits. The third chapter dealt with the types of speech acts in the chapter on mentioning the ugliness .

The thesis aims to determine the significance of the word in the theory of modern speech acts according to the theory of (Searl) and to give a picture of the book "Improving the Ugly and Brightening the Good" at the same time to get acquainted with the structure of the Arabic language

The thesis reached an explanation of the extent to which al-Thaalibi used speech acts and his classification of them, and showed that the ancient Arabs had preceded the West in studying speech acts and the convergence of procedural processes between them and the theory of news and creation.
