The College of Arts at the University of Basra organized a scientific lecture on Wednesday evening, 7/28/2021,  produced by Dr. Amani Fawzi Habshi at Ain Shams University in the Arab Republic of Egypt, entitled (Calvino's Imaginary Worlds between Italian and Arabic). The lecture was presented by Prof. Dr. Majid Abdel Hamid Abdel Kaabi, The Dean of college of Arts. The lecture included an introduction to the translation of literature (the novel in particular) and then exposed the imaginary worlds woven by Italiano Calvino's novels and the challenges that the Arabic translator could face in transferring these worlds from Italian to Arabic. The lecturer called to focus on Calvino's trilogy, and to select examples of reading from the translation of novels. A group of instructors participated in the discussion of the ideas contained in the lecture, confirming their importance and deepening what was presented.
