A book on maps and modern technologies entitled on "Methods of cartographic representation of quantitative and qualitative data: Applied Study" is

issued by instructors Dr. Muhammad Abdul-Wahhab Hassan Al-Asadi and Dr. Rabab Abdul-Majid Al-Kiswan in the College of Arts, University of Basra.

The book The book consists of 164 pages. It is divided into (4) chapters: (Chapter One: Modeling Quantitative and Qualitative Maps, Chapter Two: Methods of Cartographic Representation Used, Chapter Three: The Best Projection According to the Scale of Drawing, Chapter Four: Projection by Objective of the Method projection.)

The book aims to choose the appropriate method for projecting the data and representing it on the map. It represents a group of quantitative and qualitative phenomena in Basra Governorate in more than one of the methods of cartographic representation. It uses three scales: the small scale, the medium scale, and the large scale and the selection of the appropriate method and scale to produce the map according to the purpose of preparing the map and the type of phenomenon represented on it.
