A Discussion of the Student Riyadh Awad Salem

 

A doctoral thesis entitled "Inference in the Books of the Secrets of Grammar" was discussed in the Department of Arabic Language at the College of Arts on Sunday, 5/9/2021.

The thesis presented by the student Riyad Awad Salem included three chapters. The first chapter discussed inference by origins represented by hearing, analogy, and accompaniment. The second chapter included inference with the appended assets in the books of the secrets of grammar represented by inference by consensus and inference with the first and inference by interpretation and inference in the opposite. The third chapter involved inference with the guiding rules of inference.

The thesis aims to identify the extent of the commitment of the books of the secrets of grammar to the issue of inference.

The thesis concluded that the inference in the books of the secrets of grammar occupied a wide area and that it is a descriptive approach that can be applied to the activities of researchers interested in grammatical origins and a comparison between the ancients and the moderns.
