The Student Marwa Mohsin Taleb Thesis Discussion

This morning, Tuesday 7/9/2021, a master's thesis entitled (the Awami League in East Pakistan "Bangladesh" 1949-1971) was discussed in the History Department at the College of Arts.

The thesis presented by the student Marwa Mohsin Taleb included three chapters. The first chapter discussed the establishment stage of the Awami League in 1949-1958 AD, and the second chapter discussed the Awami League and its position on internal developments in Pakistan 1958-1970 AD. Whereas the third chapter dealt with the role of the Awami League in the division of East Pakistan and the formation of Bangladesh.

The thesis aims to study the Indian subcontinent and its countries (India, Pakistan and Bangladesh), which represent a fertile ground for research and studies, and to choose the topic of the League, i.e. the Awami League in East Pakistan, as a target to shed light on those developments of direct and effective internal factors and conflicts.

The thesis concluded that the Bengal region is of great geographical and economic importance, and because of that importance, this region was subjected to harsh control and exploitation throughout the ages, especially during the British control.
