In cooperation with Scholar International Foundation and the College of Arts at the University of Basra, Prof. Dr. Kazem Khalaf Al-Ali, an instructor in the Translation Department, College of Arts, reviewed in his lecture entitled "The translating Landmarks" the main and prominent landmarks in the development of the field of translation. He started his lecture  with what the early translation legends mentioned in the introductions to their translations, such as Cicero, Saint Jerome and Dryden, and ending with the most important trends of contemporary cultural, ideological and social translation studies.
