The Turkish Consul in Basrah, Mr. Mehmet Ozkon Arman, in coordination with Scholar Worldwide (Schwlar), visited the College of Arts at the University of Basrah today, Sunday 19/9/2021. He was greeted by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Majid Abdul-Hameed Al-Kaabi, where several scientific and cultural topics were discussed, including the Consul’s suggestion of the possibility of opening a Turkish language course at the Living Language Center of the College of Arts.

He stated: The cultural interdependence between the two cities requires us to make efforts to serve the honorable people of Basrah. The Dean of the College valued this initiative, promising to provide the requirements and needs that would contribute to the success of this initiative.

It was also agreed to set up electronic scientific seminars by professors from Turkish universities, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit and the Cultural Unit at the college.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Ozkon expressed great satisfaction with the warm reception and promised to make efforts to continue scientific and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
