Publication of a Book for an Instructor at the College of Arts on Administrative Correspondence to Official Bodies

The instructor at the College of Arts / Department of History at the University of Basrah, Dr. Tawfiq Dawai Musa Al-Hajjaj, has published a book entitled Administrative Correspondence and Manuscript Catalog.

The book consists of ( 183) pages divided into two chapters:

The first chapter / the first topic (transferring manuscripts from the coffers of the University of Basrah to Saddam House of Manuscripts), the second topic (the efforts made to return the manuscripts), and the second chapter / the catalog of manuscripts.

The book aims to familiarize the reader with the importance of manuscripts, which are considered a great wealth for the Islamic world, because they are the only heritage that conveyed to us everything about the history of our Islamic nation through the ages and in all disciplines. The reader also introduced to what the coffers of the Central Library contain of these manuscripts, as these manuscripts have been indexed and included in the book.

Because of the importance of these manuscripts and the science they contain, we had to make a double effort to return them to the library, as a great injustice occurred during the time of the former regime in 1997, and they were transferred to the Saddam Center for Manuscripts in Baghdad.
