
On Monday morning, 10/1/2022, a master thesis, entitled (the Use of Information Sources of Instructors in Medical Colleges in Southern Iraq), was discussed at the Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies.
The thesis presented by the student Hadi Farhan Rawdan included four chapters. The first chapter discussed the general framework of the study, the second chapter dealt with traditional and electronic sources of information, the third chapter included the field study, while the fourth chapter examined the results and recommendations.
The thesis aims to identify the extent to which faculty members use traditional, electronic and digital sources of information in terms of desire, and to identify the impact of specialization on faculty members' use of traditional and electronic information sources.
The thesis deduced the following:
1- Instructors who prefer foreign paper sources more than those who prefer Arabic and English together or Arabic only.
2- The most important and most widely used paper information sources are books and periodicals.
3- Conferences are among the most undocumented and oral sources of information.
4- Browse the Internet is the best for instructors to obtain traditional information.
5- Most of the instructors use learning technology in the lectures, and the most important types of this technology used are the display screens.
The thesis recommended the following:
1- Connecting the library to fast and advanced internet networks.
2- The necessity of providing a specialized staff in the Internet to assist the instructors in obtaining information.
3- Establishing continuous courses for library and teaching staff to take advantage of electronic information sources and ways to search for them.
4- Libraries' participation in global electronic databases via the Recommended letter to
